Haus Caputh

A detached house in Caputh near Berlin.

For a young family on a tight budget a detached house was designed. It features a high quality of living despite of it’s small footprint.
The ground floor has two different floor levels and a double height space to accomodate a roomy kitchen/diningroom combination and a more intimitate livingroom. For one of the grandparents a studio with a private bathroom is located here as well. It can be added to the diningroom by means of a sliding door. The fireplace and staircase have been designed as if they were one and the same object and form the backbone of the house.
The rest of the bedrooms can be found on the first floor and also an office for the parent, who both work at home mostly. Due to the use of just two finishings on it’s exterior the house seems to grow from it’s hillside location in the green surroundings of Berlin.
